VTP: Joga Bonito. Weekly Overview
What is VTP?
Virtual Technical Performance was initially started during COVID, when players were training online. We called it Virtual Tactical Performance and they would be zoom calls where players and myself (Coach Martino) would chat about tactical aspects of the game.
Now VTP is our weekly newsletter of sorts that introduces the topic which we are working on this week. It will always include a video with a professional executing the technique which we are learning. It also includes additional information on certain things and events happening at 1UP Soccer.
Weekly Training Topic
Objective: Players will learn and practice a blend of skill moves, tricks and freedom to allow them to explore their touch with very minimal direction and lots of correction, helping them “Play Beautifully.”
Coaching Points:
Rapid touches with BOTH feet
Find the space to escape
Creativity and disguise
Effective ball protection (safe side from nearest defender)
Position Specific Development Camp
AUGUST 19th - 22nd
Introducing our SECOND position-specific camp, keeping the same 1UP vibe but with a unique twist. This August 19th - 22nd join our cutting-edge POSITION SPECIFIC development camp, crafted to elevate players in their preferred positions while introducing them to new perspectives on unfamiliar roles. Expert coaches specialized in each position will lead the way, ensuring improvement based on experience.

We are continuing to strive to build a pathway for all our players. One major step to that is having a place for our excelling men players coming through our academy to have a home after youth soccer. WE STARTED STREAMING!
For those of you following on our social media may have noticed we have been going live on TikTok and Instagram. If you've ever joined you will see myself (Coach Martino), Coach Niko & Coach Tony on the screen directing people to our Twitch.
Twitch is a platform where people can stream and entertain audiences online. We have been having great success and are building some pretty cool relationships with parents, players and friends who have joined and followed our stream so thank you to those joining in.
